My Geography & Life Science tours to Reunion have run with great success since 2014 and I was so delighted to be offering another exciting & academically releva nt tour in 2020. The students were really looking forward to visiting this smallest French territory, which boasts a wealth of diversity, with an infinite number of micro-climates, magnificent mountains, 3 unique natural amphitheatres, breath-taking waterfalls, beautiful lagoons, white & black sand beaches, a clearly defined coral reef, as well as an active volcano! But 2020 proved to be a year like no other, with Covid-19 rearing its head in late February/early March and throwing the entire world into turmoil. Optimistically we clung on to the hope that travel would be possible by September, but the dreaded virus continued to dominate the world stage and slowly but surely the reality set in that the tour would not be able to take place this year. It is my fervent hope that Personal Touch Schooltours will be in a position to offer a similar tour in 2021 and I remain strong in faith, determined to rise up on the ‘wings of eagles’.
