My academically releva nt ‘summer programmes ’ have run with great joy & success for the past 18 years, offering students the incredible opportunity to perfect their communicative language skills in France. All arrangements were firmly in place for the August 2020 ‘séjour linguistique’ and students from 3 different schools were so excited for their ‘aventure en France’
Covid-19 started to rear its head in late February/early March and optimistically we clung on to the hope that travel would be possible by August. Sadly however, the dreaded virus continued to dominate the world stage and slowly but surely the reality set in that the tour would not be able to take place.
With dreams dashed, the families were understandably devastated and I too was heartbroken, as it is my great joy to introduce students to la belle France and so much time & energy had been poured into organizing the perfect tour.
Whilst Personal Touch Schooltours has been brought to its knees as a direct result of Covid-19, my fervent hope is that I will be in a position to offer a similar tour in 2021. This, however, remains to be seen, as a ‘new normal’ evolves, but I am determined to step out in faith and rise up on the ‘wings of eagles’.
